About this Speaker
Anindya Kundu is author of the new book, The Power of Student Agency. A sociologist who studies the contexts that allow youth and young adults to thrive, Anindya is currently a Senior Fellow at the Center for Urban Research in the City University of New York Graduate Center, LMIS. He received his PhD in sociology of education at New York University (NYU). Anindya taught courses at NYU including, American Dilemmas: Race, Inequality, and the Promise of Public Education; Research in Urban Education; and Education as a Social Institution. Anindya received the Outstanding Doctoral Student Teaching Award for his service. Anindya enjoys connecting research to practice for broad stakeholders and his work has appeared in NPR Education, MSNBC, and he has given two official TED Talks, each with over 1.5 million views.
